Ralph Eugene Meatyard seems to be a weird man. He would make people look somewhat scary in the eyes of the average person. It seems to me that he wasn’t all there and he should probably get help somewhere. Then again, his work got famous and he would be proud of where his work stands now. He was from Illinois and served in the navy. He was also a dad.
What I like about Meatyards photos are that they are different than the average day photo. He would put masks on peoples faces and it would just be strange. This is why I like his photos.
His photography will inspire my work because I will make people look weird in their portraits. His work is truly inspiring to me and many others.
